Raquelo Terms of Use
Last updated: 1 October 2026
Who we are
Raquelo is a project developed by Mauricio Cano.
If you have any questions about Raquelo, write to us at support@raquelo.com.
What Raquelo is
Raquelo is a platform for padel players that turns your matches into a sports story. In one place you can log the matches you play, build your history, follow your results and progress, know your ELO and category, and connect with other players.
Every match you log adds to your journey. From the results, Raquelo calculates a system of ELO and categories that places your level within the community and shows how it changes over time. Your profile brings this information together so you can see not only where you are now, but also the path that got you there.
Raquelo also lets you find and connect with other players, challenge people, form groups and share sporting activity. Over time, the platform may add new tools to help players find someone to play with, organise their matches and build their sporting life around padel.
The goal of Raquelo is that your matches are not just isolated matches: each one becomes part of a history you can look back on, understand and share.
Raquelo's ELO and category are estimates calculated from the results logged on the platform. They are not an official ranking of any federation, competition or sports organisation, and do not on their own certify a player's level to third parties.
Your account
To use Raquelo you must be at least 16 years old.
When you create your account, we ask whether you meet this requirement. We don't ask for your date of birth to check it, because we prefer to collect only the data Raquelo needs to work.
Each account belongs to one person only and cannot be shared with or transferred to anyone else.
The name and city on your profile must be your real ones. Raquelo is built on trust between players, and that trust requires people to know who they are playing with.
You can choose whether others see you by your name or by your username. Even so, your name must be real, and Raquelo may show it when necessary, for example to resolve a problem between players.
You must keep your password and login details under your control. You are responsible for the activity carried out from your account and must let us know if you think someone has accessed it without permission.
What you post on Raquelo
Raquelo lets you write content in different places in the app, such as challenge messages, dispute explanations, introductions when asking to join a group, and the names of groups or clubs.
What you write in these places can be read by other users.
You may not use Raquelo to:
- insult, threaten or harass other people;
- discriminate against, or promote hatred of, a person or group;
- post content that infringes other people's rights;
- impersonate someone else;
- use these spaces for advertising, spam or unauthorised promotions;
- post illegal content or content that may harm others.
We do not review everything users write in advance. You are responsible for the content you post.
If you think another user is breaking these terms, you can use the Report option on their profile to let us know.
You can also use Block, which stops all contact between the two of you within Raquelo without notifying the other person.
When necessary, we may remove content, limit certain features, suspend an account or close it.
Matches and their results
Raquelo lets you log the matches you play and link their results to the players who took part.
The aim is for results to reflect what really happened on court. That is why a result logged by one player may need to be confirmed by the other participants.
If nobody replies within the period shown in the app, the result may be treated as confirmed.
If a player believes a result is wrong, they can open a dispute using the procedure available in the app. In each case, Raquelo will show the applicable deadlines and consequences.
Raquelo does not decide who won a match. The platform provides a system to log, confirm and, when necessary, dispute results, but it cannot know on its own what happened on court.
If a dispute cannot be resolved under Raquelo's procedure, the result may be discarded and will no longer count towards the ELO of the players involved.
Your ELO and your category
Your ELO and your category are calculated automatically from the results logged in Raquelo.
They are not assigned by hand by anyone.
The system uses the results of your matches and other elements defined by Raquelo's algorithm to estimate your level and determine your category.
If a result is changed, corrected or deleted, your ELO and your category may change automatically.
So if a match was logged incorrectly, the error may temporarily affect the calculated values until the result is corrected.
The system may change
We may change the system used to calculate ELO or categories when needed to improve how it works or to adapt it as Raquelo evolves.
If we change the calculation system, your ELO or your category may go up or down even if you haven't played a new match.
This does not mean we have added or removed points by hand. It means the same results are being processed by a different system.
When a change of this kind has a significant effect on users, we will let you know.
Raquelo's ELO and categories belong to the platform and are only valid within Raquelo. They do not correspond to the official categories of any federation and do not on their own grant any licence, ranking or sporting right.
The confidence of your ELO
The value of your ELO is not the same as the amount of evidence behind it.
Raquelo may show information about how many and how varied the matches used to calculate your category are, and how much confidence there is in that estimate.
A category based on few matches can change more easily than one backed by a longer track record.
Confidence does not change your ELO. It only shows how much evidence there is behind the estimate.
Groups and community
Raquelo lets you create or join groups related to padel.
Groups can be used to bring players together, share activity and make it easier to organise the community.
Names and other content posted within a group must respect these terms.
The creator or administrator of a group may have certain management functions within it, but does not represent Raquelo and cannot act on Raquelo's behalf unless we have expressly authorised them.
What belongs to Raquelo and what belongs to you
The name Raquelo, the logo, the app's graphic elements, the interface design, its texts, its code and the way information is organised belong to Raquelo or are used with the permission of their respective owners.
Raquelo also uses open-source software, fonts and other resources subject to their own licences. Each of these resources keeps the terms and rights set by its licence.
Using Raquelo does not give you any ownership rights over these elements.
The content you write remains yours.
By using Raquelo you allow us to store, process and display that content within the app to the extent needed to provide the service and to show it to the people it is meant to be shared with.
This permission does not mean Raquelo becomes the owner of what you have created.
Your data
For Raquelo to work, we need to use certain data linked to your account and to your activity on the platform.
We try to collect only the information we need and to use it for the purposes explained in our Privacy Policy.
How we collect, use, store and protect your personal data is set out in that policy.
Where a question about your personal data is specifically covered by the Privacy Policy, that policy is the reference document for that question.
What we don't guarantee
Raquelo is provided as it is available at any given time.
We work to keep the app running properly and to protect the information we handle, but we cannot guarantee that the service will always be available or free of errors.
There may be interruptions, technical errors, temporary loss of certain features or incorrect results.
When we detect a significant problem, we will try to fix it within a reasonable time.
Raquelo also has no control over what happens between players outside the platform.
We are not responsible for agreements, conflicts, matches, payments, travel, personal meetings or other relationships between users, except for what is directly Raquelo's responsibility as a platform.
Moderation and safety
Raquelo does not review all content posted by users in advance.
This means a message or content may appear in the app before we are aware of it.
That is why there are ways to report content and block users.
When we receive a report or detect a breach, we may review the content and take the measures we consider appropriate, including removing it, limiting certain features or closing the account concerned.
We do not guarantee that we can immediately detect or remove all content that breaches these terms.
When Raquelo pauses or changes
We may temporarily suspend the service when needed for maintenance, to fix problems, improve security or make changes.
Whenever reasonably possible, we will give advance notice of major interruptions.
Raquelo may also evolve over time. We may change, replace, add or remove features of the app.
This is part of the normal development of a digital service.
If we ever stopped running Raquelo permanently, we would let you know with reasonable notice and give you the opportunity to get your data before the service closes, as far as technically possible and in accordance with applicable law.
Closing your account
You can delete your account from Settings.
When you delete your account, your profile and the information directly linked to it disappear, except for anything we must keep for legal reasons or that is needed for certain service records to work.
The matches you took part in may be kept without being linked to your name, appearing as "Deleted player".
This keeps the history of the other players in those matches intact. Deleting those matches completely would change their results, statistics and ELO.
Deleting your account is permanent.
We don't keep your account hidden so it can be recovered later.
If you use Raquelo again in the future, you will need to create a new account and will start over with the ELO and history of that new account.
To prevent accidental deletions, the app may ask you to type DELETE before confirming.
New features and possible paid services
Raquelo is currently free.
Over time we may add new features, services or tools.
If a feature becomes paid, we will tell you in advance its price, what it includes and the applicable conditions.
We will not automatically turn a feature you already use into a paid service without first informing you of the new conditions and, where appropriate, asking for your agreement.
Changes to these terms
These terms may change over time, for example to add new features, change how Raquelo works or adapt to changes in the law.
If we make significant changes, we will let you know in the app before they take effect.
When a change substantially affects your rights, obligations, costs or the essential conditions of the service, we may ask for your specific agreement before it applies.
If a change significantly affects how your personal data is processed, we will inform you in advance and obtain your consent where applicable law requires it.
If Raquelo changes hands
In the future, Raquelo may become part of a company, receive investment, merge with another company or project, or be acquired by a third party.
If this happens, the data and assets needed for the service to keep running may be transferred, including the information linked to user accounts, always in accordance with applicable law.
We will let you know about any significant change in who owns the service.
If the new controller intends to use your data in a way different from what has been described so far, we will inform you before that new processing begins and obtain your consent where necessary.
If you don't agree with a significant change, you can close your account and exercise the rights you have over your data.
Applicable law
These terms are governed by Swiss law, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rules that may apply in the country where you live.
If you live outside Switzerland, the choice of Swiss law is not intended to remove or limit the rights that the mandatory law of your country gives you.

Raquelo Privacy Policy

Who is responsible for your data
The controller of your data is Mauricio Cano.
If you have any questions about how we handle your data, write to us at support@raquelo.com.
What we store
The data needed to have an account:
- Your email address and your password. We cannot read or recover your password. The login system doesn't store it as it is, but a value calculated from it that is only used to check that the password entered is correct. You can change it from Settings while you are signed in. If you forget it, you can request a new one from the sign-in screen and we will send you an email to reset it.
- Your first name and first surname, your username, your country and your city.
- The five answers to the questionnaire used to calculate your starting category.
- The language in which you use the app, so we can send you emails and notifications in that language.
- If you turn on notifications, an address for your phone that we use only to deliver them to you.
And on your own phone we keep:
- Your session, in the phone's encrypted storage, so you don't have to enter your password every time you open the app.
- Marks of what you have already seen, so we don't show you the same thing again as if it were new.
This information does not leave your device: it doesn't reach us and is not stored on any server. It is deleted when you sign out or uninstall the app.
The data you can add if you want: your photo, middle name and second surname, year of birth, gender, playing hand, preferred side and your usual clubs.
The data generated as you play: your matches, your ELO, your category, your confidence, your wins, your opponents and the disputes you open.
And the content you write: challenge messages, dispute explanations, introductions when asking to join a group, the names of the groups or clubs you create and the reports you make, including who you report and why.
What we use your data for
We use your data to:
- let you access your account and keep it linked to you;
- calculate your ELO and your category;
- let other players find you and challenge you;
- build the ranking of your groups;
- send you notifications and emails about your account, your challenges and your matches;
- review the reports we receive and protect other users.
We don't use your data for advertising and we don't sell it. Nor do we share it with third parties for their own purposes. The only third parties involved are the providers the app needs to work, acting on our behalf.
The only exception depends on you: you can allow us to tell your club that you play there. This option is turned on from Settings, is off by default and is explained below.
Why we can process your data
To provide the service you asked for. Creating your account, saving your matches, calculating your ELO and placing you in the ranking are essential features of Raquelo. Without that data we could not provide the service.
When something depends on your permission, such as telling your club that you play there, we will ask you separately through a specific option. You can withdraw that permission whenever you want.
And when the law requires us to keep or hand over certain information, we will do so to comply with that obligation.
How your ELO and your category are calculated
Your ELO and your category are calculated automatically by the app from the results logged in your matches.
This calculation has no effect outside Raquelo. It has no legal or financial consequences and does not determine access to any competition, activity or service outside the app. Its purpose is to order the ranking and show your level within Raquelo.
What other players see
Other players can see your username and, depending on what you choose in How others see you, your name with or without your surname; also your city and country, your photo, your category, your ELO and your confidence, as well as the information that comes from your matches: how many you have played and won and your win rate, your sets won, your recent form, how many different opponents you have had, how you have done against each category, how many disputes you have opened, how your ELO has changed since you started, when you last played and how long you have been on Raquelo. They can also see the groups you have in common.
This information is part of the ranking: if it couldn't be seen, the ranking would lose its meaning.
You decide on four pieces of information from Settings: your surname (in How others see you), your year of birth, your gender and your clubs.
No other user can see your email address. Ever.
About your photo: it is stored in a protected space. To display it, the app requests a temporary permission that expires after one hour. So an address for the photo copied and shared outside the app stops working automatically once it expires.
If you remove the photo from your profile, we delete it. It may keep appearing for a while on a device that had already loaded it, until that copy expires.
Your club
The clubs where you say you play are entered by you. We don't check them. Raquelo has no agreements with clubs and no independent way of knowing whether you really play there. It is information you provide, not data verified by Raquelo.
In Settings you will find a box, unticked by default, that lets you authorise Raquelo to tell your club that you play there, so it can offer you tournaments, lessons or promotions. You can withdraw this permission whenever you want.
We currently don't share this information with any club, whether the box is ticked or not. This feature is not active in Raquelo yet. The box stores your permission for when the feature exists.
Before it is turned on, we will tell you in advance what information would be shared and with which clubs.
Who else may process your data
These providers may process certain data on our behalf. They use it to provide their services to us, not for their own purposes:
- Supabase stores the accounts, the database and the photos.
- Resend sends the app's emails and, to do so, receives your email address and the content of the message.
- Expo, together with Google on Android and Apple on iPhone, makes the app's notifications possible. To do so, they receive your phone's address and the content of the notification. Expo also delivers the app's updates and, to do so, receives your device's IP address.
- Cloudflare and Google receive the messages you send us at support@raquelo.com.
We don't use third-party services to analyse, advertise, track or monitor the app. Raquelo doesn't use analytics, advertising or tracking tools, or systems designed to collect error information.
This may change over time. If we add new providers or change the ones we use, we will update this policy before the change takes effect.
A change of ownership may also happen: if Raquelo becomes part of a company, receives investment or is acquired, the data may be transferred to whoever continues to provide the service, in accordance with this policy and applicable law. We will inform you in advance when applicable. This case is also explained in the terms of use.
Where your data is
Your account, your matches and your photos are stored on servers located in Germany, within the European Union.
If you live outside the European Union, your data may travel there to be stored and processed. Germany is part of the European Union and is subject to its data protection rules.
What we won't promise you is that your data will never leave Europe. Supabase, the provider we use to store most of the information, is an American company, and some of the services Raquelo needs may process certain data outside the European Union or Switzerland.
Emails are sent through Resend, from Ireland. Notifications go through Expo, Google and Apple, and the messages you send us at support@raquelo.com go through Cloudflare and Google. These companies are American and may process certain data outside Europe.
When this happens, the safeguards required by the applicable data protection law will apply.
We'd rather tell you clearly than promise something we can't guarantee.
How long we keep your data
It depends on the type of data.
While you have an account, we keep the information Raquelo needs to work, such as your profile, your matches and your groups.
If you create an account and don't confirm your email address, we delete it automatically the next day.
When you delete your account, we delete your profile and the information directly linked to it, including your name, email address, photo, questionnaire answers, challenges, blocks, reports, language and your phone's notification address.
If you ran a group, the group doesn't disappear with you. If there is another administrator, it stays under their management. If there isn't, it passes to the person who has been in the group the longest. The group is only deleted if no other member remains.
From matches we keep only what is necessary for the other players' records to stay consistent: the result and the dates, with your identity replaced by "Deleted player".
We delete the information that identifies you and keep only what is needed to preserve the history and ELO of the other players in those matches.
What you can ask us
By writing to support@raquelo.com, you can ask us to:
- Access the data we hold about you.
- Correct data that is wrong. You can also change most of it directly from Settings.
- Delete your data. You can also do this directly from Settings.
- Get a copy of your data in a format we can provide.
- Object to certain uses of your data when the law gives you that right.
- Restrict the use of your data while a question is being resolved, in the cases provided for by law.
We will reply as soon as possible and within the deadlines set by the applicable law.
In Switzerland, requests to access your data are generally answered within 30 days. If we couldn't reply within that period, we would explain why and when we can.
If you think we have not handled your data correctly, you can contact the data protection authority in your country. In Switzerland, this is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
Minors
Raquelo is intended for people aged 16 or over.
When you sign up, we ask whether you meet this requirement. The answer is not stored as part of your account: it only decides whether you can continue signing up.
If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 16, we will close it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will let you know in the app before the changes take effect.
